Young Adults of St Francis

Back in time, but yet so true

Posted on: April 2, 2011

I found a great Catholic Update article from May 2009 including 10 Tips for Married Couples: Love for the Long Haul. It states that “Your marriage becomes real when our idealistic love for each other is tested, when forgiveness overcomes annoying habits and when it shares in the sacrificial love of Jesus on the cross.” So many couples in our society today find it difficult to forgive resulting in the astonishing divorce rate. (According to enrichment journal on the divorce rates in America, the divorce rate in America for first marriage is 41%: http://marriage101.org/divorce-rates-in-america/) We are called to forgive just as Jesus so willingly forgives our sins. During this Lenten Season may we self reflect and seek forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation and in return become forgiving individuals in the relationships we encounter.
